The New York State Parent Education and Awareness Program - designed to educate divorcing or separating parents about the impact of their breakup on their children. The primary goal is to teach parents ways they can reduce the stress of family changes and protect their children from the negative effects of ongoing parental conflict in order to foster and promote their children’s healthy adjustment and development.

to Parent of New York State -Organization that provides emotional
support and information to parents of children with disabilities or
special needs.
New
York Yellow Pages for Kids with Disabilities --includes many resources
- government programs, grassroots organizations, and parent support
groups. They will be adding evaluators, educational consultants, academic
tutors, advocates, attorneys, and others who help parents get services
for their children.
Resources for Children With Special Needs -An independent, not-for-profit
organization that provides information and referral, case management
and support, individual and systemic advocacy, parent and professional
training, library and information services to New York City parents
and caregivers of children with disabilities and special needs and to
the professionals who work with them.
NICHCY (The National Informational Center for Children and Youth with
Disabilities) -NICHCY is the national information and referral center
that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues
for families, educators, and other professionals.
The New York State Citizen's Coalition
for Children -the Coalition is an organization of concerned citizens
and over 140 volunteer adoptive and foster parent groups in every region
of New York State. Guided by a belief in the right of
every child to a permanent, loving family.
The
National Resource Center for Family-Centered Practice and Permanency
Planning -at the Hunter College School of Social Work- is a training,
technical assistance, and information services organization dedicated
to help strengthen the capacity of agencies to: institutionalize a safety-focused,
family-centered, and community-based approach to meet the needs of children,
youth and families.

Special Education Resources for Parents- Assessment information,
laws & regulations, overview of the special education process with
information regarding evaluation, eligibility, parental rights, IEP,

PBIS Technical Assistance
Center-The Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions
and Supports (PBIS) has been established by the Office of Special Education
Programs, US Department of Education to give schools capacity-building
information and technical assistance for identifying, adapting, and
sustaining effective school-wide disciplinary practices.

Advocates for Children-
Advocates for Children of New York, Inc. works on behalf of children
from infancy to age 21 who are at greatest risk for school-based discrimination
and/or academic failure.
The Advocacy Center- The
Advocacy Center, located in Rochester, NY, is a non-profit organization
that educates, supports, and advocates for families of children 0-21
with all-ranges of disabilities.

MPOWER
Musicians for Mental Health- mpower is a new youth awareness campaign
that's harnessing the power of music to change youth attitudes about
mental health and fight the stigma facing the 1 in 5 youth with mental

Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health -Families
Together in NYS parent organization, advocating on a national level
for families with children with special needs.
Mental Health Association of New York State -MHANYS is a voluntary
not-for-profit statewide association with 32 local affiliates located
in communities throughout New York State. MHANYS brings together
service recipients, families, professionals, advocates and concerned
citizens to address all aspects of mental health and mental illness.
New York Association of School Psychologists -NYASP serves children,

Children's
Mental Health Coalition of Western New York -The Children’s
Mental Health Coalition of WNY Inc. is to strengthen family support
services, to promote awareness of children’s mental health issues
and to foster equal partnerships between parents and child serving agencies.
CMHCWNY serves 19 counties in Western New York including: Allegany,
Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe,
Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins,
Wayne, Wyoming and Yates.
AHA/AS/PDD - The Advocates for Individuals with High Functioning Autism, Asperger's
Syndrome and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders, Corp. is a Long
Island parent group whose primary purpose is to support one another
as they advocate for the unique needs of children and adults with these
